Shameless self-promotion: New review at ClassicFlix!
Check out my review of the new Danny Kaye Show collection at ClassicFlix: Danny Kaye Legends Collection. The 2-DVD set is not technically impressive at all, but it's a fun sampling of 1960s variety. Notwithstanding that headline, "Legends" is a bit dubious, but I think Shirley Jones runs away with the whole thing.
*There's a lot of interesting content on The Ringer, but I just can't go there regularly as long as there is saturation coverage of The Bachelor.
*I'm fine with the whole sport of college basketball going down in this corruption scandal as long as one of the schools punished is Duke.
*The news of a Murphy Brown reboot may be the jolt I need to go back to reading novels.
*Sporting News on the Eagles/Vikings game:
Some travel agents in Minnesota are warning Vikes fans to be careful around Eagles fans, saying they should even consider removing their Minnesota jerseys and apparel. One admits the warnings sound "like we’re almost talking about gangs."
I don't know, if I had, like a viking spear and a helmet, I think I'd hang onto those.
*I love when Hulu just suddenly gets a show like ER. It reminds us that anything can happen and that even those big lists that circulate each month about what's coming to streaming services are not comprehensive.
*Finally saw The Room, and it was a life-changing experience as expected. Now I think I'm ready for The Disaster Artist.
*"Green-skinned with strap thingies on his head" Braniac will always be cooler than robot Braniac.
